The university partnered with Balance to extend and tailor the Magento platform, providing students and staff with a seamless online shopping experience. Balance integrated the platform with Salesforce CRM, providing real-time API integration for up-to-date product information. They enabled a single sign-on with Monash Accounts ID, internal fund transfers, and traditional payment methods, including credit card and PayPal. They also ensured SAP-ERP-WCAG compliance, and created a marketplace module to enable different faculties and their departments to manage products, pricing, and orders.
With the help of Balance, Monash University’s digital marketplace has been a massive success, generating $17 million in online sales, which is a 240% increase in SKUs, from 1,400 to over 3,300, since the go-live. The platform’s superior user experience and streamlined operational efficiency have helped Monash expand its range of products and services. The platform’s success has also made Monash a finalist in the 2019 Magento Imagine Awards for ‘Best Digital Commerce Experience.’
