About the role

We are looking for an experienced Magento 2 Developer / Technical Lead to lead a team of Backend and Frontend Magento 2 developers in technical design and implementation of technology-focused eCommerce solutions.

This role will include hands-on software development, as well as team leadership and mentoring, approximately in 50/50 ratios.

The role assumes engagement with internal and external technical and business stakeholders, so quality verbal and written communications in English are essential.

To be successful in the role you’d need to be keen to understand the business needs to design the solutions based on the functionality and constraints of the core platform (Adobe Commerce / Magento ), considering modern integration and implementation patterns and bringing other technologies to deliver superior technical solutions. You would be a talented and experienced software engineer and a strong leader for the team of developers to get the work done and to support team in their professional development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Requirements analysis and technical design of the software solutions in collaboration with the development team.
  • Leadership of a team of backend and frontend developers, mentoring the developers.
  • Maintenance of the backlog within the framework of the projects.
  • In collaboration with Architects, responsible for major technical decisions in the development process.
  • Responsible for design and maintenance of the skeleton of the code.
  • Technical consultancy.
  • Code development (high-complexity solutions or code skeletons).
  • Software quality assurance (audits, code reviews, testing, etc).
  • Contributes to the corporate IT infrastructure in regards to the automation software and tools, optimisation of the structure and processes.
  • Carries out technical interviews with the potential employees.

About you

  • 3+ years of Magento 2 experience in technically complex implementations where functionality of core platforms is significantly extended.
  • 5+ years of experience in PHP development.
  • High level of proficiency in MySQL, Elasticsearch and caching layers of the platform.
  • Proficiency in integration methods including usage of middleware solutions, asynchronous integration patterns (messaging and batches), backends for frontends patterns, headless patterns.
  • Solid knowledge of modern OOP and integration patterns, modern practices (Dependency Injection, Facades, Separation of Concerns).
  • 2+ year of team management experience and Agile environment.
  • Experience in Docker-based development and deployments.
  • Experience in profiling and optimisation for code and databases.
  • Diagramming and documentation leveraging UML.
  • Atlassian suite including JIRA / Confluence / Bitbucket.

Knowledge and experience with the following items are not essential, but are highly regarded:

  • Design and implementation of highly scalable AWS-based deployments and serverless on AWS.
  • PWA Studio or AEM CIF.
  • Adobe Commerce Cloud.
