The Power Retail All Star Bash is one of the most exciting events on the Australian retail calendar. Held annually, this awards night brings together the best and brightest in the world of eCommerce, to celebrate notable achievements in the online retail space.

This year’s Bash was held on February 23rd, at The Glasshouse in Melbourne. More than 400 retail professionals descended on the venue for the black-tie event, and Balance Internet was honoured to attend with our partner Magento. We were represented by our Director of Client Success, David Crothers, our Account Director, Aaron Chidley and several of our retailer partners who were thrilled to be a part of the evening.

The past year has been one of great growth in the retail industry, with new trends emerging and customer expectations changing dramatically. Australian retailers have met this challenge admirably, and the All Star Bash was an excellent chance to acknowledge that. It was also an opportunity to look to the future – everyone was keen to talk about Amazon coming to Australia, and how that will shape the retail space in years to come.

Awards were presented to companies including General Pants, Vinomofo, Chemist Warehouse and Jetstar, recognising their achievements within areas such as innovation, sales and customer experience. The biggest winner was Woolworths, who took out the prize for the Top Retailer for 2017 – but win or lose, everyone enjoyed the chance to mix and mingle with their industry colleagues for a night of great conversations.

Coinciding with the launch of the 2017 Power Retail Top 100 list, as well as the release of the E-Commerce Leaders’ Playbook, the All Star Bash was a really valuable night. We’re proud of our partners (including Braintree, Bronto, Dotmailer, Openpay and Temando) for helping to sponsor the event, and we can’t wait to attend again next year.
